Waratah Adventure Tours was incorporated by founder and director Rudi Diederich in Sydney in 1986. As a tour leader Rudi travelled extensively across the 5th continent before starting nation-wide off-road camping safaris. Over time the company developed into a special interest operation with a focus on nature-based tours and is today enjoying an outstanding reputation in the travel industry.
Gerda Weber is the General Manager and Financial Controller, supported by Lisa Simon (Reservations) and Jens Hertel (Operations). But the wheels do not turn without the loyal driver-guides based around the country and the crew of the cruise boat "EnigmaX".
From its headquarters in Sydney the firm operates excursions along the south-eastern seaboard and from its bases in Ayers Rock/Alice Springs, Darwin and Cairns, the Northern Territory and North-Eastern Australia are covered.
Waratah Adventures is a member of the Tourism Export Council (ATEC), the German-Australian Chamber of Industry and Commerce, is licensed by nature conservation agencies in most states and an Accredited Tourism Business.
The company operates a modern fleet of 7 to 15-seater coaches and 4x4 vehicles. Accommodated modules with different styles of accommodation including hotels/motels and lodges are the backbone of its operation. Waratah Adventure Tours have fully qualified English and German speaking driver-guides, who are well versed in the Australian geography, culture and flora/fauna.
