We are wishing all Aussie friends a great 2018.

Qantas will again fly from London via Singapore to Australia from March 2018. Although the partnership with Emirates has been extended, more travellers prefer the Asian stopover and so have more route options. Qantas is trying to position itself activily as a premium airline after record profits.

In the financial year 16/17 Australia received a record 8.5 Mill international visitors, an increase of 9% compared with 15/16. Germany is in place 11 with more than 200.000 visitors, an increase of 8%.

"Sculpture by the Sea" is over and again more than half a million people wandered over the cliffs between Bondi Beach and Tamarama to view this now famous outdoor exhibition.

Vivid Sydney was on again, a festival of light, music and ideas. Vivid transforms Sydney into a wonderland of 'light art' sculptures, innovative light installations and grand-scale projections.

Backpackers on "Work and Travel" visas will now be taxed 15 per cent on any earnings, which has lead to a decrease of available working travellers. Also young Austrian travellers can apply from 2018.

The internationally acclaimed artist Bruce Munro is hosting the biggest "Field of Light" installation at Uluru in the Northern Territory. This show has been extended due to its popularity. Munro has installed more than 50,000 LED solar-powered light stems around the "Rock".

Please note: For cultural reason the climb will be closed from October 2019.
